I Made Sound Effects for the Hypnospace Outlaw Sequel!
I don't trust Bluesky. The more I use it, the less I enjoy it. Do I want to get into it all right now? No. Suffice it to say if you haven't already made your own website and related RSS feed by now, you should. But while I was beating myself up for getting stuck scrolling over there this morning, I came across a post that made it aaaaaaaall (almost) worth it:
what's up Hypnospace fans. I'm working on Dreamsettler (the sequel to Hypnospace) and I need your nastiest sound effects. you can use your phone. put them in this Google Drive folder: drive.google.com/drive/folder... (read the README)

Never mind—I LOVE Twitter 2, the sequel to Twitter! What a fantastic opportunity I'd just scrolled across. It's not every day one of the people responsible for one of your favorite video games of all time asks the public to shape the way the sequel sounds, in some gross & silly way. I was locked the fuck in. I made 6 things, 5 of which got accepted, and 1 is in the folder waiting for either acceptance or deletion. I used my wet ass mouth and my DX7 ass Dexed VST. I had a grand time and look forward to putting Dreamsettler on my resumé. Here are my sounds:
Accepted Sounds
Mouth Squish
My Impression of a Drowning Duck
Shrill Metallic Bonk
Annoying Clicking
Digital Bees In a Grumbling Stomach
Not-Yet-Accepted Sound As of Writing This Post (But Hopefully!)
A Robot Programmed to Take Dumps Doing Its Thing
