The 3rd Bay Area cohost Meet-Up: A Critical Review
Despite being even more tired than yesterday, I forced myself out of bed and into Diane's car. Diane's car was, coincidentally, being driven by my friend Diane. She got me in there to go the meet-up we're doing every month now! Cars are incredible. I love cars.
But... friends that you met on a website? Well that's even better. Fuck cars actually. Let's put them all in the ocean. I've always hated cars.
Anyway, having something on the calendar that isn't a miserable appointment but something to look forward to instead has been refreshing. I like seeing whoever shows up, and we had a great group as always. Making it a recurring thing is nice too because if people have to miss one, it's no big deal! There's always next time.
As for this time (despite us all missing cohost and it coming up a bit), the event wasn't majorly focused on how sad we were about the website, like at the first meet-up. That one was fun of course, but it had a twist of bittersweet. Today, we were just hanging out in the park, listening to the radio. This gets said a lot, but: it really doesn't get much better than that. I'm happy I ignored the parts of my brain that told me to stay in bed today.
