Signed, Mega Man
I had to sign for a package today. My signature is nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. Here, I'll show you:
(yes)
I started signing my name like this way back in 2015. I had just moved out on my own—I was 19 and I didn't really know even a single thing. I was at a sushi restaurant with my new friend/roommate and eventual nightmare ex-partner-of-some-kind (long story), paying for the first of many dinners because they "forgot" their wallet. Right before I signed my own name on the check, I thought about how through my whole adult life, I'll be signing the same signature over and over. I worried about having a bad one. The waiter was approaching. Gotta sign quick... I thought of something funny. I went with that. I went with Mega Man. The receipt came back no problem (I was slightly worried that if the signed name didnt match the name on the card I'd get in trouble (Reminder: I knew nothing at all)).
Walking home to the new couch I lived on, I thought it would be incredible to go through life signing my name as "Mega Man" and since nobody really cares what you do so long as you're chill and it's fine, I can do that. I can play a little joke on everyone that only I notice or care about. If anyone ever did say something like "Hey, why'd you write 'Mega Man' on here?", I could come up with another joke. "That's how it's spelled, not how it's pronounced."
Life can be fun. Nothing to worry about.
