Hall of Days

I feel bad for falling off of the blog-every-single-day project so quickly. I did it for long enough that it does feel strange when I wake up and realize I hadn't written about the previous day. It feels like I had lost the day more tangibly than I would've felt before the project. Not a fun feeling. Hopefully, today's post is the start of a long streak.

In other "feeling bad" news, the holidays are fully here. Yes, the suffocating & inescapable presence of Christmas has once again fully ensnared me. Not even in my own home am I free, unless I shut off all Internet-connected devices and broadcast receiving equipment. It's in the air. I can smell it. I can feel the Christmas in my bones. It's in there *deep*. No escape. Gotta keep moving forward down this endless hall. Hall of days and days and days and days and days and

Anyway! I bought Dot a nice set of [redacted, she reads the blog, no gift spoilers buppy!] and [redacted] to use them on. They'll arrive later in the month but she's gonna love it. I got myself a couple things as well—mostly fluorescent paint, canvases, and a calligraphy pen. We're going full art mode in this house. I mean, we're usually there already. But even more so now with all of this ink and paint and paper. The older I get, the more non-computer shit makes sense. Paper *is* good. It's real as hell.

Also real—all of my obligations! I need to finish up a few things today (mostly shipping out Issue 3 of Very Little News and mixing/mastering some songs) before I can officially stop working so hard and take the rest of the year off. I am ready to absolutely mcfucking lose it burnout-wise but the projects I'm working on are deeply fulfilling & wonderful to work on. It's a real mixed bag here in my office today.

Oh, hey! It started to rain. I'm going to go for a walk.
